Lead Qualification
Sorting leads by how well they fit your offer and how ready they are to buy, using answers collected in the form or behavior observed on the site.
Lead qualification decides what happens to a lead after the popup captures it. A newsletter subscriber, a business owner asking about pricing, and a student researching a term paper may all type into the same email field, and treating them identically wastes both sales time and the visitor's attention.
In a popup, qualification usually happens through one or two extra questions: company size, role, what they are trying to accomplish, or a budget range. A multi-step form is the natural place for these, with the email captured on step one and the qualifying questions on step two, so an abandoned second step still yields a contact. Select and radio fields keep answers structured enough to route on.
Behavior qualifies too. A visitor who reached the pricing page from a comparison article is further along than one who landed on a beginner guide, and URL targeting lets each see a form matched to that stage. Route qualified leads to a person or a specific sequence through a webhook or Slack, and put everyone else into a slower nurture track rather than discarding them.
